Sedona, Arizona design style

My Sweet friends Sil and Jack are contemplating a move to the Sedona, AZ area. These pics show the architectural style of that area. As you can see in many of these pictures, the mountains are the main focal point of the architecture...and no wonder they are Gorgeous.

A beautiful portrait of the mountains. The stone used for the
fireplace is rustic and lends itself to the colors of nature.

Once again the view plays a hugh part of this design.
The windows appear to be an extension of the outdoors.

It's almost like you have no walls in this beautiful open
concept of living and dining. The pendant lighting
is hidden in the colors that blend nature with design elements.

Stone everywhere and wild flowers bring
a nature feel of organization to this garden.

You can not help but see how beautiful the stone work
on the fireplace highlights the color scheme on the ceiling.

You know who said you had to glam the bedroom when you
have God's creation as your view. Simple but look at that
fabulous door. There my friends is your POP.

The woodwork in the bath area has that
Southwest feel. The lighting is simple but
artistic in presentation. Nothing overboard
just to the point, 3 lights become 6.

This kitchen is nothing to jump up and down about
but the use of the wine rack draws attention to the room.
Cabinet doors are either not used or touched of clear glass
give a nice simple feel to the room.

The use of shelves highlight your collection of books or
your favorite treasures. Include the brick work and the interesting
shape of the ceiling and you have your focal point highlighted
by a nice warm fire in the fireplace.

Here we go again in the same room...but check out
the use of pattern on the floor. Look at the concept of
art with what appears to be an African influence in a
wooden carved statue. All this to highlight the mountains
in the background.

You may not want this large water feature but I would
highly recommend having one installed to scale of the property.
This feature is on the contemporary design side but there
are many different ways to bring in the soothing water to your entry way.

Once again you have a water feature. Smaller in scale but nice
in design. I especially love the lighting here and the tall grass
gives that desert mountain vibe. Simple yet have a glass of wine
and enjoy.

There is this wonderful element of Southwest design
who says you cant add your own woodwork to the property.
The color of the exterior is also an interesting thought.

There are a variety of ways to design
and entry to a home. Some use glass, wood
and rock. This glass is design as art and I
can only imagine when the sun hits it. A burst
of color for all to enjoy.

The fine art of design. Chili pepper, interesting
rug, light woods and stone. This is a great room.

The stone floor isn't the only thing your eye is
drawn to. Look at the windows and the wonderful
pockets in the wall to highlight your treasures.

What caught my eye was the separation of the TV and the window
area. I really like this. Imagine it without the small wall. I love
the view from the corner its full and appears to be lending
its viewer to another part of the home. Nice idea.

I just thought this was interesting. Not anything special
but done well. I like the iron used. The light woods and the
use of granite.

For me this is great design. Its interesgting
artistic and washing my hands and face
would put a smile on my face every morning.
Rustic, elements of nature...I really like it.
If you perfer a more simple design just keep
in mind to be creative.

Another corner window to view the mountains. Once
again this isnt a wow design but its nice and to the
point. I love the use of dark color on the one side of the
room to appear larger than the room really is. Its nice
interesting colors used and not over bearing.

Loved the ceiling. Depending on your design this is
almost cabin like. It for me is the focal even though the
windows are nice.

I like gthe color scheme in here. Dark woods and gray cabinets.

The shelving around the fireplace catch my eye. When
you have a room with no architectural interest this is
an interesting concept.

I like the drapery here to highlight the beauty of the room.
The windows and balcony are great. Take out the
white stand and you have a nice room to relax.

Simple entry but this was about the
woods used to add elegance to the
design.

I like the fire pit concept  for the outdoors.

Thought this looked alot like the basic design you showed me Sil ;)

When you design or redo a home there
are elements that you can add to highlight
what would be a boring area. Just the
reason these windows were included. You see
a beautiful ceiling but the window design helps
balance the design.

I like the warmth of the room. Simple cabinetry give this
office its needed storage. Color paletter of brown and
red feel welcoming. Add leather and you have a great
office or reading room.

On a small scale the open concept works here. Bar
seating at the kitchen workspace brings all together.
I wouldn't put such large pieces in this area but
this still works even though a bit cramped.

I found the beams interesting and the use of the
fireplace mantel. I like the light stone and the
lighter wood floors. The color of the furniture is
light and the added dark color here and there
adds interest to the design.

One wall of stone is what I like about this kitchen
design. The pot rake is also interesting.

I love the Cross...of course I do. The
wall of stone once again interests me.
There is a variety of stone used here but
I like the artistic aspect of it.

The door....not the wall ;)

Architectural design in the rounded openings
is carried throughout the room and entry way
I like it and it gives a designer element to the design.

Add a beautiful bed and you don't need
to much more. High ceilings and beams is
also a nice touch. Notice all the wood
floors and rugs.

This is just a great design all around. There
is nothing I do not like about this.

Now thats a washroom.

And finally a fountain, nature a rounded edge rock and
mountains. That's Arizona for you.

ArHaus such a GREAT SHOP

I took a trip to Denver, Colorado recently. My daughter who now lives in Colorado joined me as we roamed the area for great shops with unique appeal. We stumbled across ArHaus which we found charming. It is a family owned company based out of Ohio. What fun that they located one of their stores in Denver. From the moment you walk into the Parker location you find such unique and imaginative designs. The cost is affordable and the possiblity for creating a dynamic space is endless with the products for purchase. The friendly staff of designers staff the store and are also available for consulting service. I am sure you will enjoy this family-owned shop in Denver, check out the other locations in the other 12 states within the U.S.

Probably left over from Christmas decor these glass balls hung from the ceiling for a very dramatic look.

Loved these two chandelairs paired together. Beautiful bubble dropped glass give a simple yet powerful statement for over the dining or coffee table.

Actually purchased some of these plates for a POP to an Asian picture we needed to highlight.

These two chandelair lamps will adore my buffet in Dallas.

Fun Large spoons hanging from ceiling for any kitchen/dining room POP

How creative to use iron candle lights to highlight a spot in any room.

This beautiful drawing on the wall was interesting for an idea when you just can't find that perfect picture.

These gorgeous green plates were in design all over the wall such a pretty colorful design idea.

Classic blown glass from Mexico in colors that lighten the mood of any design

Same chandelair showing close up glass blown bubble drops.

Packing paper stapled on a board and some glass hanging pots. Tada a wall design.

Origami paper work glued to the branches of this tree. Very interesting and right on highlighted spot in an entry or corner needing something...something

Wooden carvings used for the wall very dramatic and elegant.

This is a bamboo blind with a wooden mirror such a great look, it's blurry but still worth a look see.

Blown glass a better view.

Hi daughter...standing next to 3 hanging drapes for a very extreme look at a make shift chandelair

Paint the wall, place a plate in the middle and there you go...design

This was interesting. Paper crunched and probably spray glued to dry.
