Basic Diagram of setting up your home for the best
possible Feng Shui. Now let's take a look at some designs
that represent this in the home design.

Lets start with career: Black, water, mirrors, good career symbols such as picture of what you would like to be or achieve, glass, earth, yellow, square shapes and clean the area for dust, and the front door. Allow the door to be open and inviting.

Wisdom and knowlegde: The color blue anywhere and everywhere. Light. Symbols of mentors, even a penny with Lincoln on it. Sharp objects or metal. Mediative areas to reflection. Remove: alcohol and drugs, clutter, unclean areas, unwise symbols like stock market paper.
Family: Center of the room to the left of room or home. Green, Black, wood (picture frames, plants, paneling, live plants, rounded type objects: like tree truck shapes...not just completely round. Remove: white and metal here in the family and relationships area. Or add more wood to the room.
Prosperity: Back of the room on the left. Clutter is a no no. Leaks or chipped paint, toilets seat DOWN. Litter box, broken things, dead plants, trash can, improper prosperity symbols like college years w/ no money, sad or poor people in pictures, old rusty or worn furniture. Do add purple , red and green colors, actually money, gold or stock certificates, jewels, healthy plants, pictures of things you want, moving water.

Fame and reputation: Center of the back part of the room or home. Color RED, real fire, fake fire, electrically powered objects, pointy or triangular objects like a cactus, sun and stars, famous people. Remove: Water, black colors, symbols of poor reputation or unappealing character traits.
Relationships and love: right side of the room toward the back. Remove old love letters, objects from other relationships or past ones. No single pictures or objects here. single objects in the room, juvenile ch'i, TV, excercise equipment, laundry, things that distract, pointy and pokey things. Do include: Space, matching pairs, sensual things, pink things, round or rounded items
Children and relationship with children: Go into the room or house and walk 1/3 of the way to the right. This is your children and creative area. Include: Metal, white, round stuff, fun stuff, hobbies and crafts. Remove: fire, red, triangular or pointy objects out. To get pregnant: do not sweep around the bed if you want energy to settle in. Silver baby rattle, religious item, dont hammer nails into the house (what) when trying to conceive and have fun. ;) hahaha
Helpful people: Front right side of room or home. Silver and gray. You can put a silver box with a lid here include things you are thankful for or I am enjoying now....if you have an issue with someone put the opponents name here like their business card. Religioius or helpful being, pictures of symbols of your favorite travel destination, bells. Put items you would like help with and then things to help you achieve them. Remove: junk, drains (use red tape or paint or ribbon) to stop the down the drain issue.
Improve your health: The center, the heart. Include: Yellow and anything from the Earth. Open the window and allow the air to come into your home. Or go outside for the natural air. Use oils, clear clutter.
Tips: For energy use red.
Clutter is a negative
Yellow for creativity
Orange for refreshing and vitality
Blue for calm

Celebrate Women

I recently read an article about women. It enlightened me with its positive aspects of our daily struggles and triumpants as women. What I believe about every challenge is that we get an opportunity to grow, enhance our life, learn something invaluable about who we are. If you allow yourself to become stronger you have the power for anything you seek!

"Women lose their lives not knowing they can do something different...I claimed myself and remade my life. Only when I knew I BELONGED TO MYSELF COMPLETELY did I become capable of giving myself to another, of finding joy in desire, pleasure in our love, power in this body no one else owns!"

Boston, Salem, Newport...What A Great Trip It Was

Just returned from a wonderful trip to New England. The architecture, the food, the history behind the American Revolution was such a fun trip for my daughter, sister and I. These are just a few
of the places we saw. I have about 400 pictures but
didn't think it was a good idea to share those with you.
Highlights of Boston, Salem and Newport, RI. Amazing

Shabu Shabu

You have to work the part: Geisha style

Set a fun table with a contemporary edge to bring an ethnic feel to the meal.
Everyone needs the challenge of the Chop Sticks!
You can use any vegetables you'd like.

Be creative with the sauces.
My husband and I had the pleasure of living in Tokyo for 2 years in the mid 70's. We fell in love with the culture of the country and the food. Here is one of our favorite meals.

Shabu Shabu (swish swish) for swishing sound it makes when you drop the food into the broth to cook. Had this meal with family recently and brought back so many wonderful memories of Japan.

Go to the butcher have him thinly slice some rib eyes or any tender meats you like. Remember paper thin slices is what you'll need for Shabu Shabu. Get 2 cartons of chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame seed sauce, green onions, Chinese cabbage, carrots, yellow onions or onions of your choice, jasmine rice, Japanese odon noodles and of course the meat, pork, or shrimp if you'd like. Grab some Japanese beer, sake or a nice middle of the road red wine. Dessert: sherbet ice cream and a Fortune cookie for good luck.
